Erasing Files & Unused Disk Space

The Erase File... command will erase and delete a file selected using a file directory dialog.

The Erase Unused Space... will erase all space on a disk that is not currently allocated to files.

In this context, the term “erase” means to overwrite the appropriate space on the disk with zeroes.
